2020 Tokyo Olympics odds, lines: Baseball expert reveals picks for South Korea-Dominican Republic bronze medal game

The bronze medal will be on the line when South Korea and the Dominican Republic collide on Saturday in the bronze medal game at Yokohama Baseball Stadium. First pitch is set for 11 p.m. ET on Friday. South Korea is the -160 favorite (risk $160 to win $100) in the latest South Korea vs. Dominican Republic odds from Caesars Sportsbook while the Dominican Republic is the +140 underdog. The Over/Under for total runs scored is 8.5. (Check out all of SportsLine's Olympics coverage.)

Before you lock in your Dominican Republic vs. South Korea picks, be sure to see the Olympics predictions and betting advice from CBS Sports baseball guru Matt Snyder.

A former player for Indiana and a member of the Baseball Writers' Association of America, Snyder has been a baseball writer with CBS Sports since 2011. CBS Sports' longest-tenured baseball expert combines simple logic learned from his baseball-playing days with an extensive background in analytics. He went 26-18 in the 2020 MLB playoffs, including 8-4 on World Series bets. Anybody who followed him saw some huge returns.

South Korea enters the Saturday's game trying to salvage something from this tournament. The South Koreans won gold the last time that baseball was an Olympic sport, in 2008 in Beijing, and, in an attempt to win gold again, had assembled a team filled with stars from their domestic league. But back-to-back losses to Japan and the United States knocked them out of gold medal contention.

Meanwhile the Dominican Republic is looking for its first Olympic medal in baseball. Since baseball first became a medal sport in 1992, the Dominicans had qualified for the Olympics only once, in '92. That year they finished sixth of eight teams. Through five games in Japan, they have fielded the best defensive team, making only one error for a fielding percentage of .994.

Now, Snyder has set his sights on South Korea vs. Dominican Republic. One of his picks is Under 8.5 total runs (-110), but he's found a critical X-factor that has him jumping all over one side of the money line. You ABSOLUTELY need to see what he has to say before locking in any 2020 Tokyo Olympics or Dominican Republic vs. South Korea picks of your own.
