Jonathan's Past Picks
This is a very high total, but it's a great hitters' park and both starting pitchers are extremely vulnerable. Cincinnati's Luke Weaver has been torched lately, posting a 10.29 ERA in June and a 7.27 ERA in July. The Reds always score for him though, and they should do so again versus Giants starter Anthony DeSclafani, who has a 4.44 ERA and hasn't pitched in 17 days. He returns from the injured list after suffering "right shoulder fatigue."
Dodgers starter Michael Grove has a 6.89 ERA overall, and an absurd 11.15 ERA on the road. Orioles starter Tyler Wells has been much better, but he still has surrendered at least two runs in seven straight starts. And we haven't even talked about the bullpens. We should get another Over in Baltimore.
The Cubs have dropped seven of their last eight games, and they're 1-9 in their last 10 as underdogs. Milwaukee returned home from a 7-3 road trip and took the series opener in dramatic fashion Monday, rallying from a 6-0 deficit to win 8-6. The Brewers should stay hot behind Wade Miley.
We're fading Nats pitcher Patrick Corbin and Reds pitcher Brett Kennedy, who has not pitched in the majors since 2018. Wish I'd gotten it earlier at 9.5, but I still believe we will clear this total with room to spare.
We're going to ride it until the wheels fall off. Last night's matchup produced 13 runs, marking the fourth straight Reds game that has generated 13 or more. Orioles' games have cleared this total of 8.5 in six of the last seven. I know the pitching matchup looks pretty good on paper, but we're going to get a lot of runs tonight.
