Purdue is much upgraded for Barry Odom. Not that Illinois took advantage of how bad the Boilermakers were last season, forced into a desperate OT battle at Champaign-Urbana that ended in a 50-49 escape. Now the Illini heads to Ross-Ade in a classic sandwich spot, off of a rousing last-second win over USC and with a showdown vs. Ohio State on deck. They don't make better pastrami or corned beef at Katz's Deli in Manhattan than this sandwich! The Riveters look spiky for Odom, whose QB Ryan Browne can wing it (already above 1000 YP...though he might need to start passing to Purdue jerseys instead of the opposition) and RB Devin Mockobee offers balance as he could be en route to 1000 YR.
