By us, this has loomed as a tricky "sandwich" game for Vandy for several weeks. The reason? The rampant Dores had last week's foe Georgia State in their crosshairs since spring practice after getting upset last year in Atlanta, and predictably took out frustrations on the Panthers. Next week, it's Alabama as the SEC season swings into gear. Remember that before this season, laying points, especially vs. non-conference foes, was often a tricky assignment for Vandy. Utah State brought over New Mexico's Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator from last season, and New Mexico's defense ranked 130th in the country in points allowed. Utah State struggled on defense last season, and while they look somewhat improved statistically, they have lots of work to do. Vandy has been a machine on offense averaging 47.5 points per game. We like Diego Pavia to roll, and we also have Vandy with almost a 20% chance of scoring a defensive touchdown.

RB Miles Davis leads the Aggies offensive attack that has the ability to score the ball. Defensively they've been solid on 3rd down and have gotten key stops, putting the ball back into the hands of an offense that can strike quick. I like this one to be a back-and-forth affair in Nashville.
