The shine has worn off and the magic is over, don't overthink the game script that is about to unfold here. Baylor is looking to get right after two straight losses and Kansas is about to come back down to Earth. Love the story of the Jayhawks this season and the loss of Daniels at QB was just heartbreaking, but we don't make money from fairytales and this matchup quite likely gets out of hand in a hurry. Kansas is giving up 41.3 PPG on the road this season, not to mention last week with Oklahoma putting up 52 on them. The Sooners needed a bounce back game and got it, Baylor will do the same...except that the Bears are only giving up 17.7 PPG at home this season so don't expect Kansas to have the offensive game it did against the Sooners.
The tough-luck Bears are just a couple plays away from being 5-1 instead of 3-3. They outplayed BYU and West Virginia most of the way before suffering some unfortunate breaks at the end. The best cure for what ails them is a visit from a Kansas club that is has dominated, covering 11 of the past 12 meetings. Of course Kansas has turned the corner this year, but the magic has subsided behind the injury loss of quarterback Jalon Daniels. There is quite a drop-off to backup Jason Bean, and Baylor should take advantage and get back on track with a blowout win.
