No team has suffered more at the hands of the two biggest names in Big Ten football than Indiana. The Hoosiers have not beaten Ohio State since 1988 and have beaten the Wolverines just once since 1987. That came in 2020, so it doesn’t really count. Indiana has scored enough points to stay in some games and win a few, but the Hoosiers have not faced a defense like Michigan’s. They will likely struggle with the Wolverines offense as well.
As a former Hoosier I don't feel good about picking this. But, this Hoosier team is terrible. After scraping out three bad-looking wins, they have been run-over by Cincinnati and Nebraska. The Michigan Wolverines have looked dominant this season outscoring their opponents by 33.8 points per game. The Wolverines are 7-1 against the Hoosiers under HC Jim Harbaugh. They should dominate this matchup again and cover this big spread.
I was burned earlier this season taking Michigan as a big favorite, but I'm not worried here. Indiana beat Michigan during the COVID season of 2020, but other than that, it hadn't beaten the Wolverines since the Reagan administration. Furthermore, nearly all of Michigan's wins in that run were by three to four scores. The Hoosiers are not good. Michigan should run away with this one.
