A geography refresher: Rice University is in Houston. Its stadium sits 47,000 but Rice has just 20K fans, which leaves plenty of seats for the Cougar faithful. The Owls have won just 11 games over the past five years, three of which have been coached by Mike Bloomgren. Houston led a very solid Texas Tech team 21-10 at the half but lost 38-21. Dana Holgersen, in his third year, has his best team since taking over the program, and I think Houston will be the favorite in all 11 of their remaining games. QB Clayton Tune completed 27 of his 38 passes for two touchdowns, and the defense returns 14 players with starting experience. With no home advantage, I have the Cougars winning by 19.
