Fred Hoiberg has his Huskers off to a flying 7-0 start, continuing their fast finish last season when winning six of their last eight. Hoiberg made real upgrades in the portal, adding ex-Bradley 6-10 F Reink Mast, ex-Charlotte 6-7 wing Brice Williams, and ex-New Mexico F Josiah Allick, combining for 36 ppg and 21 rpg thus far. The schedule, however, has been decidedly soft, and in-state Creighton represents a major upgrade. We are giving the Bluejays a mulligan for their stinker vs. Colorado State because that's been their only poor effort, and they recovered to dispatch Ok State without much trouble at midweek, as the Bluejays got 21 points from Baylor Scheierman and 20 more from Trey Alexander. Play Creighton
If you didn't watch Creighton looking like it was shooting blindfolded in the loss at Kansas City vs. Colorado State on Thanksgiving, you might think this is one of the best college offenses you've ever seen. Scoring 48 points, hitting only 17 of 61 (27.9%) from the floor and 6 of 29 (20.7%) beyond the arc that day, Creighton still is scoring nearly 84 ppg, hitting 50% of its shots and 40% of its triples on the season. A new threat is Utags transfer G Steven Ashworth, hitting 47.1% of his 3-balls into December. Fred Hoiberg's Nebraska, however, is also scoring 82 ppg, and a pair of teams combining to score 166 ppg should be able to clear 147. Play Creighton-Nebraska "Over"
I really llike Nebraska and if you've been following me you will remember we had Fred Hoiberg's team several times. I'm on Creighton because of the short ride (54 minutes), the Blue Jays have a Elite Eight roster and revenge from last year's 63-53 loss at home to the Huskers. Take the Blue Jays to cover.
