It was a tough go for San Jose on Wednesday down the coast at Cal Poly, when the Mustangs rallied to force OT and a wild 81-77 mini-upset. Tim Miles, however has the Spartans competitive most nights, and we suspect the current edition is going to be hard to put away while featuring plenty of scoring balance (four DD scorers) and good-enough marksmanship, with FGs above 47% and triples north of 36%, and heady leadership from PG Alvaro Cardenas (5.1 apg). Montana came in late at midweek to slip inside a big number at Nevada, but the Griz are only 2-4 and lack the inside presence of last year with 6-10 Josh Bannan (15 ppg) inside. Play San Jose State
