Hawaii hit the mainland last week for a couple of games at the new Palm Springs Acrisure Arena against extremely modest (UTRGV and San Diego) opposition. While the Rainbow Warriors will like their chances against the likes of last week's foes and should fare well in the Big West with an experienced lineup featuring go-to G Noel Coleman (16.4 ppg), tonight they see some real size. The onus will be on UVa/UNC transfer Justin McKoy (who rarely played in the ACC) to slow down Utah's many bigs featuring 7-footers Branden Carlson (17.2 ppg) and Colorado transfer Lawson Lovering. The Utes have size on the perimeter, too, where 6-6 wing Gabe Madsen (15 ppg, 51% FGs) can cause matchup problems. Play Utah
Big difference in talent here as well as Hawaii's first true road game. The game is being played in Delta Center in Salt Lake City, seating 18,000. My guess is this will be close to a sellout for Utah. The Utes have already beaten Wake Forest and Saint Mary's on the road. Utah has one of the tallest teams in college basketball. My model has Utah by 16.
