In just its fifth year of existence, the Michigan online casino market put up the highest single-year revenue total ever, with platforms combining for $3.1 billion in 2025 after they totaled a record-setting $315.8 million in December. With that single-month high, the 15 online casinos in the state put together a landmark 2025 in Michigan, which became the first state to top $3 billion in yearly revenue.

Michigan online casinos head into 2026 on a high

Launched in January 2021, the Michigan online casino industry has quickly risen to the top of the ranks as a cream-of-the-crop market leader. That was shown in December with a state-record-setting $315.8 million in revenue – Michigan's first time topping $300 million.

FanDuel Casino, which has certainly benefited from an attractive FanDuel Casino promo code and other promotions for existing players, led all operators with $76.9 million in December. It was followed by the BetMGM Casino app with $67.8 million.

Of note, Hard Rock Bet Casino, which entered Michigan at the start of the month, reported $35.7 million. That total was less than $10 million behind established operator DraftKings and its DraftKings Casino bonus, which had $45.4 million.

Combined with legal sports betting, the online gambling industry in Michigan wrapped up 2025 with a record $3.8 billion, which led to nearly $625 million in state tax revenue.

FanDuel, BetMGM lead Michigan online casinos into new year

The bulk of the success of casino apps in Michigan stemmed from the state's top performers, with FanDuel Casino ($817.1 million in 2025) and BetMGM Casino ($782.5) combining for over half of all iGaming revenue last year.

That is not to exclude DraftKings Casino. Its $461.8 million combined with the totals from FanDuel and BetMGM – one-fifth of the entire iGaming industry in the state – represented over 66% of all 2025 revenue from online casinos in Michigan.

In 2026, with the market still relatively new compared with heavyweight industries in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, eyes will continue to watch if Michigan continues to be so top-heavy and how all operators can build upon a strong base it established in 2025.

Perhaps, even, Michigan online casinos threaten to become the first industry to top $4 billion in annual revenue.
