Surrendering an NHL-high 203 goals is one reason the Sharks are buried at the bottom of the Pacific Division, and we hardly believe that Vitek Vanecek's first start in goal tonight in almost two months (fractured cheekbone) is going to provide any sort of panacea. When last seen, Vanecek had lost all three of his December starts while recording a woeful 5.24 GAA for the month, and a very subpar .850 on his saves. Meanwhile, the Canucks got straightened out with a 3-0 win on Tuesday at Colorado as Thatcher Demko won his second straight start in goal.
