Eagles vs. Cowboys injury report, odds, spread: Ezekiel Elliott, Jalen Reagor, Darius Slay will play, Leighton Vander Esch will not in potential elimination game

Both the Eagles and Cowboys still have very slim playoff hopes heading into Sunday's game in Dallas.

Even though the Philadelphia Eagles are 4-9-1 and the Dallas Cowboys are 5-9, each still has a shot to win the awful NFC East Division – although both could be eliminated by the time they take the field Sunday for a 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff at AT&T Stadium. Dallas is on track to get back star running back Ezekiel Elliott from injury but won't have starting linebacker Leighton Vander Esch. Philly, meanwhile, will have both receiver Jalen Reagor and top cornerback Darius Slay in the lineup. The Eagles are 2.5-point favorites on the William Hill Sportsbook NFL odds.

The Washington Football Team hosts Carolina as a 2.5-point favorite in a 1 p.m. ET kickoff on Sunday. Should Washington win that game (and we think WFT does), then both the Eagles and Cowboys are eliminated from playoff contention. Both Philadelphia and Dallas would have to win out and have Washington lose out to have any chance, and there are still other things that must happen.

Could Sunday be Elliott's final home game as a member of the Cowboys? Most likely not, but there have been some rumors this week that Dallas could try and trade the high-priced Elliott because he has not lived up to his massive contract and backup Tony Pollard has been better this year – not to mention much cheaper. Elliott's 2021 salary is fully guaranteed, but a trade would save the Cowboys around $10 million. Bleacher Report this week speculated Elliott to the Jets for a second-round pick.

Elliott missed last Sunday's win over San Francisco – first missed game of career due to injury -- but has been at practice this week and said he's "on track" to play. Pollard carried 12 times for 69 yards and two scores against the Niners and led the team with six catches to go with 63 yards. Pollard is averaging 4.7 yards per carry this season and Elliott a career-low 3.9 yards.

Vander Esch left last Sunday in the second half with what is being called a sprained ankle, and Coach Mike McCarthy isn't counting on him vs. the Eagles. Vander Esch, a 2018 first-round pick out of Boise State, is a fabulous player but hasn't been able to stay healthy since playing all 16 games as a rookie. Safety Xavier Woods and defensive tackle Antwaun Woods are also expected out.

The news is largely good for the Eagles, who will start Jalen Hurts again at quarterback. Reagor, the No. 21 overall pick in this year's draft (Eagles fans wanted Justin Jefferson, and they were right), missed the fourth quarter of last week's loss to Arizona but is fine. Slay, acquired in a big trade this offseason from Detroit, has cleared concussion protocol and will play.

Philadelphia goes for the season sweep as it beat Dallas 23-9 in Week 8. Seventh-round rookie Ben DiNucci was the Cowboys' QB that day and was overmatched – he'll likely never see regular-season action again. Carson Wentz was still the Philly starter then and turned it over four times (two interceptions, two fumbles) and threw for just 123 yards but did have two TD tosses. Reagor caught a TD pass. Elliott rushed for 63 yards on 19 carries.

The Eagles have failed to cover the spread in five straight road games, tied with Seattle for the longest active ATS losing streak on the road. The Cowboys are now 4-2 ATS since starting 0-8 ATS.
