2023 National League playoff odds: Phillies poised to clinch postseason spot Tuesday, Diamondbacks and Cubs favored for final two Wild Card berths

There are three playoff spots up for grabs in the National League.

There's not quite as much postseason drama in the National League as in the American League in the final week of the 2023 MLB regular season. All three NL division titles have been clinched and the are Phillies able to claim the top Wild Card spot Tuesday with a win over visiting Pittsburgh. That leaves two playoff spots open, and the Diamondbacks and Cubs are the favorites to claim them at DraftKings.

Philadelphia (87-69) has a five-game lead for the top NL wild card spot which makes it all but a done deal. You can't even bet on which team will be the NL's No. 4 seed. The Phillies would clinch a playoff spot with a win over Pittsburgh, and would clinch that top spot with a win AND a Cubs loss in Atlanta OR a Brewers win over St. Louis. The Phillies in theory could rest key players for the remainder of the week once they are locked in. They would host the No. 2 Wild Card team in the first round of the playoffs next week.

Arizona (82-74) holds the No. 2 NL Wild Card spot via tiebreaker over the Cubs (82-74) with the Diamondbacks as -125 favorites to finish as the fifth overall seed in the NL and +210 for the No. 6. They start a three-game series at the eliminated White Sox Tuesday and then close with three at home vs. Houston, which is battling for an AL playoff spot. To make the playoffs overall, Arizona is -450 with No at +350.

The Cubs are on the losing end of tiebreakers against the Diamondbacks, Marlins and Reds, but Chicago is the +170 favorite for the No. 6 seed and +310 for the No. 5. It visits Atlanta for three starting tonight and Milwaukee for three – neither has much to play for. The Cubs are -130 to make the postseason and +110 to miss.

Miami (81-75) is a game behind Arizona and Chicago and is +180 for the No. 6 seed and +220 for No. 5. The Marlins hold both head-to-head tiebreakers and close with three at the Mets and three at the Pirates. Miami is -150 to make the playoffs and +130 to miss.

Cincinnati (80-77) is 2.5 games back of the No. 6 seed and +1500 for the final slot. The Reds are +5500 for the No. 5 seed. They start a two-game set in Cleveland Tuesday and close with three in St. Louis. Cincy is +1200 to make the playoffs and -1600 to miss.

The top of the NL is essentially set with Atlanta as the NL East champion and No. 1 seed, the LA Dodgers as West champions and No. 2 and Milwaukee as the Central champion and No. 3. The Brewers would host the last Wild Card team next week.
