Understanding Public and Money

Think of 'Public' as the percentage of people betting on each side and 'Money' as how much money is being bet. When there's a big difference between the 'Public' and 'Money' data, it usually means that the more serious bettors (referred to as 'Sharp Money') are favoring a particular side.

Larry's Analysis:

Pacific enters just 4-9 at home, but that's much better than Pepperdine's 0-9 road mark. The Tigers won the first meeting 80-75 nearly a month ago and are coming off a rousing upset of Santa Clara. In conference play, Pepperdine's best road performance came in a three-point loss at San DIego, the second-worst team in the WCC. It's true that Pepperdine's last conference win came Feb. 5, 2022 versus Pacific. But that game was in Malibu. I'll bank on the Waves' 15-game WCC losing streak continuing.

Matt's Analysis:

Pepperdine is winless on the road and on a 10-game overall losing streak. It has has lost every conference contest this season by an average of 13.1 points and dropped 15 straight WCC games overall. How can that program not be fairly good every year considering its location in Malibu? The Tigers go for the season sweep as they won 80-75 at Pepperdine on Jan. 7.
