Bears vs. Patriots picks, predictions
- Bears vs. Patriots: Chicago Bears to win ($0.60 per share)
- Luther Burden III: 1+ touchdowns ($0.33 per share)
- Hunter Henry: 40+ receiving yards ($0.40 per share)
Bears to win outright ($0.60 per share)
Caleb Williams returned from injury Sunday and helped Chicago build a big lead in Atlanta. The quarterback completed 30 of 36 passes for 305 yards in a 31-23 victory. D'Andre Swift and Roschon Johnson added rushing touchdowns, and the Bears controlled possession for more than 40 minutes. It was a welcome change after a 31-7 loss at Green Bay. Chicago is 4-2, with home victories against Philadelphia and the Jets.
New England also sits at 4-2, having won three straight. Drake Maye threw for 235 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday's 26-19 victory over the Jets, but the Patriots lost receiver Romeo Doubs to a shoulder injury. The short turnaround presents another problem up front. Alijah Vera-Tucker and Ben Brown are banged up, following a game in which New England used multiple replacements along its offensive line. SportsLine forecasts a 24-20 Bears victory at Soldier Field. Kalshi prices Chicago to win at $0.60 per Yes share and $0.41 per No share. Luther Burden III anytime touchdown ($0.33 per share)
Eight receptions and 95 yards at Atlanta gave Burden his busiest receiving afternoon of the season. He had previously caught seven passes for 61 yards in Chicago's 27-7 victory over Philadelphia, the game that produced his lone touchdown through six outings. Burden has 31 catches for 361 yards, and he's logged at least four receptions in four straight games. Chicago found room for him Sunday with Williams back at quarterback, although Colston Loveland, rather than Burden, scored the receiving touchdown.
The Patriots allowed 19 points in their victory over the Jets and came up with a late interception against Geno Smith. Cornerback Christian Gonzalez played all 62 defensive snaps, giving New England one of its regular starters for another difficult receiver matchup. There hasn't been much touchdown production from Burden so far, even as his receiving totals have climbed. SportsLine's Thursday projections put him at 4.7 receptions, 57 yards and 0.30 touchdowns. Kalshi lists a Burden touchdown at $0.33 per Yes share, with No priced at $0.69. Get a sign-up bonus of $55 when trading $25+ on Kalshi with the promo code SPORTSLINE55:
Hunter Henry 40+ receiving yards ($0.40 per share)
Henry has reached 40 receiving yards in four of New England's six games, including each of the last three. He caught four passes for 48 yards and a touchdown against the Jets after collecting 44 yards against Las Vegas and 62 at Buffalo. Those three contests were all Patriots victories. His season total stands at 19 receptions for 225 yards and two scores, with his 40-yard game against Pittsburgh accounting for another visit to this week's target.
The Patriots' receiving group has changed ahead of Thursday. Doubs suffered a shoulder injury after scoring on a 42-yard reception against New York and has since gone on injured reserve. A.J. Brown returned from an ankle injury but caught three passes for 27 yards, while DeMario Douglas led the team with seven catches for 86. Henry's workload will be worth watching with those changes. SportsLine forecasts 3.3 receptions and 44 yards for the tight end. Kalshi prices 40 or more receiving yards from Henry at $0.40 per share.
