Even at 2-2, Colorado seems in control of this series. Yet the Stars have been able to grind out a couple of wins in OT, mostly because Jake Oettinger has been good enough in goal to keep the Avs at bay. Oettinger has saved 58 of 62 shots across the past two games, and might have performed his best in Game Four when standing on his head the first two periods keeping the score 3-0 before Casey DeSmith worked the final 20 minutes. Oettinger got a bit of extra rest at the end of Game Four, and this could be another Game 3-like, goalie battle between Oettinger and Mackenzie Blackwood, who has a sparkling 1.60 GAA and .939 saves in this series. Devon Toews is often overshadowed by Cale Makar, but he is a very solid two-way defenseman. Toews has one point in the series, and I expect him to add to that total in Game 5.

This series is tied 2-2, but if you've watched these games closely, you'd know that it could easily be 3-1 in Colorado's favor or over altogether. The Avalanche are simply the better team right now. Jason Robertson and Miro Heiskanen are both unlikely to play in Game 5 for Dallas, while the Avs are coming off one of their most dominant performances of the season. Home ice counts for something here, but I fully expect Colorado to win Game 5 and have a chance to close out the series at home in Game 6.

I consider these teams evenly matched, so getting the home team +1 at basically the same price as the visiting club's moneyline is something I'll almost always take in that scenario. Stars netminder Jake Oettinger was significantly better at home during the RS, although that didn't mean much in the first two games of this series in Big D. Dallas All-Star forward Mikko Rantanen, the former Avalanche, is way overdue to have an impact with just an assist and minus-4 rating.
