The Arizona Diamondbacks have been involved in two extra inning victories over their last three games. They escaped yesterday’s extra inning win over the Royals, in large part because of Ryan Waldschmidt. Waldschmidt kept the inning alive with a two-out single, and the Diamondbacks ended up tacking on four extra runs. A big part of the Dbacks continuing to have success is players like Waldschmidt doing their job at the bottom of the lineup. Even hitting in the ninth spot today, look for Waldschmidt to pick up where he left off last night and clear his combination line.
