The A's are second to last in runs scored per game ahead of only the awful White Sox offense, and they have been much worse against righties than lefties this year, posting a .600 OPS. That's good news for righty Marcus Stroman, who started his year by allowing no earned runs in two straight starts while throwing six innings in each game. I expect him to get through six against today against this offense and would also consider a sprinkle on him allowing Under 1.5 earned runs at plus odds.

Marcus Stroman eats innings and while the As look a lot more competitive compared to their team last season, I mainly attribute that to the success of their pitching staff. Stroman has pitched well as a Yankee and will face a As lineup that is dismal against opposing right handed pitching possessing the second lowest OPS. I really like Stroman's chances to go 6 plus today.

Paul Blackburn has been as good as any starter in the AL, the A's are playing with house money already taking one from the Yanks and Marcus Stroman started to show some cracks last time out. This crowd wont be very patient, Judge is horrible (get ready to hear about the big toe), Soto took a bad tumble into the wall and might be banged up and Volpe looks overwhelmed again.
