WNBA odds, lines, picks: Proven experts reveal parlay for Aug. 14 that would pay almost 6-1

The 2022 WNBA regular season concludes Sunday will a full six-game schedule that features a key battle for a postseason berth between the Atlanta Dream (14-21) and host New York Liberty (15-20), with tip-off scheduled for 2 p.m. ET. New York sits in one of the two playoff spots still up for grabs, one game ahead of the Dream after posting an 80-70 victory in Atlanta on Friday.

Also currently in a postseason position are the Phoenix Mercury (15-20), who host the Eastern Conference-leading Chicago Sky (25-10) at 5 p.m. ET. Meanwhile, the Minnesota Lynx (14-21), who are one game behind both New York and Phoenix, visit the Connecticut Sun (24-11) at 1 p.m. ET.

Caesars Sportsbook lists New York as a 4.5-point favorite in the latest Liberty vs. Dream odds, and the over/under for total points scored is 160.5. Chicago is a six-point favorite in the latest Sky vs. Mercury odds and Connecticut is a six-point favorite in the latest Sun vs. Lynx odds.

Before you make any WNBA picks or parlays, you NEED to see what women's basketball experts Calvin Wetzel and Aaron Barzilai are saying.

Barzilai is a Ph.D. from Stanford who served as Director of Basketball Analytics for the Philadelphia 76ers. Five years ago, he founded HerHoopStats.com -- a groundbreaking website that unlocks insights about the women's game. Wetzel, the site's lead betting writer, incorporates his mathematical background and strong knowledge of women's hoops to turn the site's prediction model into picks.

Now, Barzilai and Wetzel have turned their attention to the WNBA after going 590-430 overall (+127.40 units, +13.6 percent) during the 2021-22 women's college basketball season. Anyone who has followed them has seen HUGE returns.

Wetzel and Barzilai have scoured the rosters and broken down the matchups for Sunday's games. They have revealed a three-leg parlay that could lead to a payout of almost 6-1.

We can tell you that one part of the parlay is the Las Vegas Aces (-6) covering the spread in their game against the Seattle Storm. The Western Conference championAces are riding a three-game winning streak and posted an 89-81 victory when the teams met in Seattle on Aug. 7.

The experts have two other strong plays that MUST be in your three-leg parlays, including an underdog that should be backed. You ABSOLUTELY need to see the experts' selections before locking in any WNBA picks or parlays.

Here are Wetzel and Barzilai's best bets for Sunday's WNBA schedule:

    MINNESOTA LYNX at CONNECTICUT SUN | 8/14 | 7 P.M. ET

    Pick: Lynx +6

Things always get kind of murky when projecting these final games of the regular season. With some teams locked into their seed and others eliminated, it's always important to keep in mind who will be motivated and who won't be.

In this game, Minnesota is fighting for its playoff lives, while Connecticut is locked into the No. 3 spot. While the Sun still are likely to roll out their starters, as they did after clinching the top spot last year, there's a decent chance that at least a couple of them see fewer minutes than normal.

With Lynx legend Sylvia Fowles retiring after this season, Minnesota will have every reason to make sure this isn't her final game and extend their league-best streak of 11 consecutive postseason appearances.

    ATLANTA DREAM at NEW YORK LIBERTY | 8/14 | 2 P.M. ET

    Pick: Liberty -4.5

In terms of playoff implications, this is the game of the day, as both teams are among the logjam fighting for the last two postseason spots. As such, it's a great one on which to bet, since neither team's motivation will be in any sort of doubt.

These teams met on Friday in Atlanta, with the Liberty coming away 80-70 winners after closing as 1.5-point favorites. Regardless of the result of the first leg of the back-to-back, switching home floors should be enough to move the line more than that.

Add in the fact that Liberty point guard Sabrina Ionescu loves to show up for huge games, and New York is a solid bet to take this one and punch its ticket to the playoffs in front of the home crowd.

    SEATTLE STORM at LAS VEGAS ACES | 8/14 | 3 P.M. ET

    Pick: Aces -6

The Storm are locked into the No. 4 spot, while the Aces will secure the No. 1 seed with a win in this one, so Las Vegas is the team with more on the line. The Storm would love to play spoilers, and the MVP race between Seattle's Breanna Stewart and Las Vegas' A'ja Wilson is as tight as it gets, so the Storm certainly will make the Aces work for it.

However, even if both sides had everything on the line, six points would be on the low end of reasonable. Factoring in the implications should give the Aces an edge.

This one opened at -10.5 before moving to -4.5 overnight, and now it's climbing back up, so it appears that the sportsbooks don't have a great grasp on how to handle the motivations and implications. Grab the Aces while it's still somewhat low.
