Will Seahawks' Russell Wilson extend NFL-record streak of winning seasons in 2020?

Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson has accomplished something no other signal-caller has. Can he continue it this year?

The Seattle Seahawks "stole" Wisconsin quarterback Russell Wilson with the 75th overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. Wilson was supposed to be a project and not start immediately for Pete Carroll's team that year, but he was clearly the best QB on the roster (Matt Flynn?!) … and the rest is history.

Seattle's worst regular-season record since Wilson's arrival was 9-7 in 2017, making Wilson the only quarterback in NFL history to lead his team to a winning season in each of his first eight years. Football fans may be thinking that's not correct; after all, what about Tom Brady? He sat as a rookie behind Drew Bledsoe and that counts as Brady's first season. The Green Bay Packers have had a couple of losing seasons under Aaron Rodgers since he took over for Brett Favre in 2008.

NFL oddsmakers at William Hill sportsbook are confident that Wilson's streak will continue in 2020 as the Seahawks are given an Over-Under win total of 9.5, although the Under is a -150 favorite.

Looking at Seattle's schedule it projects to be a betting favorite in each of the first six games: at Atlanta, vs. New England, vs. Dallas, at Miami, vs. Minnesota, BYE, at Arizona. Perhaps the Seahawks are underdogs Week 8 vs. San Francisco and then most likely will be Week 9 in Buffalo with one of those tough 10 a.m. Pacific time starts.

Seattle might not be done making a splash in free agency this offseason as the team has been linked to Antonio Brown as well as re-signing Jadeveon Clowney. Wilson reportedly is completely on board with bringing aboard the talented but troubled Brown, who is also good friends with Seahawks backup QB Geno Smith.

Seattle could use an upgrade at No. 3 wideout behind starters Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf. Pro Football Focus ranked the Seahawks' receiving corps as the worst in the NFC West (17th overall in the NFL) largely because of no true No. 3.
