Today's top picks: Why the Nets will cover against the Bucks and MLB expert bets for Saturday, June 5

Jonathan Coachman is joined by expert sports bettors Mike McClure and Zack Cimini on the Early Edge podcast. They give you their best bets for Major League Baseball and the NBA for Saturday, June 5.

McClure starts things off with two plays, both in MLB. The first is Over 8 runs in the Tigers-White Sox game (2:10 p.m. ET). "[The White Sox] might cover the eight runs themselves in this game," he says. "I love the Over 8 here."

McClure's second play is Over 8.5 runs in the Twins-Royals game (4:10 p.m. ET). "I love the way the Twins hit lefthanded pitching, especially in this environment," he says.

Coach then jumps in with the SportsLine Play of the Day: Under 6 runs in the Padres-Mets game (10:10 p.m. ET). "This appears very very low at 6 until you look at the average number of runs scored in a Jacob deGrom start, and it's 5.37," Coach says.

Cimini's first play comes in the NBA: the Nets (-4) to cover against the Bucks in Game 1 of their playoff series (7:30 p.m. ET). "I think it goes back to the theory that more rest is not always beneficial in the postseason," Cimini says.

Cimini closes things out with the Red Sox (+110) to beat the Yankees (7:15 p.m. ET). "It's going to be 90 degrees today, compared to 65 degrees yesterday," Cimini says. "I think that spells trouble for pitcher Jameson Taillon, who cannot pitch beyond five innings."
