Today's top picks: Why the Giants will beat the Cardinals and more MLB, NBA Finals and tennis expert bets for Saturday, July 17

Jonathan Coachman is joined by expert sports bettors Mike McClure and Justin Perri on The Early Edge podcast. They give you their best bets for Major League Baseball, the NBA Finals and tennis for Saturday, July 17.

Coach starts things off with the SportsLine Play of the Day: the Suns (-4) to cover against the Bucks in Game 5 of the NBA Finals (9 p.m. ET).

McClure then gives the first of his two picks: Over 218.5 points in Game 5 of the NBA Finals between Phoenix and Milwaukee. "This [number] is a little bit of an overreaction to the last game being more competitive and going Under," McClure says.

McClure's second pick comes in tennis: both Alexander Bublik and Kevin Anderson to win a set (+110) in the men's semifinal of the Hall of Fame Open (1 p.m. ET). "We know that Bublik is very inconsistent," he says. "We know he is probably the better player. He is certainly the higher ranked player, the younger player at this point in his career. [But] Anderson is a master on grass."

Perri's three-pack of picks comes in MLB. The first is the Marlins and Phillies to go Over 9.5 runs (-120) (6:05 p.m. ET). "Stormy weather or about to be stormy weather, the high humidity, the temperature -- that's good hitting conditions," he says. "So this is one of the best hitting environments of the day."

He also likes the Twins to cover the -1.5 run line (+130) in the first game of the doubleheader against the Tigers (1:10 p.m. ET). "The Twins won all four games [between the teams before the All-Star break] by more than one run," he says.

Perri closes things out with the Giants to beat the Cardinals (-121) (7:15 p.m. ET). "[San Francisco starter Anthony DeSclafani] has been incredible on the road -- 2.14 ERA when away from home and a 0.97 WHIP -- so less than one baserunner per inning," he says. "He hasn't given up four runs in any [road] start this year. Six plus Ks in five of his last six starts, so he's dealing."
