Today's top picks: Why the Astros will beat the Braves and more World Series and NFL expert bets for Sunday, Oct. 31
The SportsLine crew shares its expert bets for Sunday, Oct. 31, on The Early Edge podcast
Jonathan Coachman is joined by expert sports bettors Mike McClure, Larry Hartstein, Justin Perri and Matt Snyder on The Early Edge podcast. They give you their best bets for the World Series and the NFL for Sunday, Oct. 31.
Perri starts things off with a pick for Game 5 of the World Series between the Astros and Braves (8:15 p.m. ET): Over 2.5 runs for Houston in the first five innings (+130). "I think the Astros need to come out and make a statement," Justin says. "They need to get an early lead, they need to get that offense rolling early. The Braves have clearly shown that they can shut it down late."
McClure follows with an NFL prop bet: Over 46.5 receiving yards for New Orleans' Alvin Kamara (-110) in the Buccaneers-Saints game (4:25 p.m. ET). "Alvin Kamara's had 19 targets in the last two weeks. They're back to throwing him the football," he says. "We know the Buccaneers do not really allow teams to run the football. (The Saints are) still going to put the ball in Alvin Kamara's hands, but they're not going to have much success on the ground."
Mike also likes a three-leg parlay in the game at +100: Over 38.5, Saints +14.5 and Over 29.5 receiving yards for Kamara.
Snyder turns things back to the World Series and likes the Astros (-115) to defeat the Braves. "I can't believe that (Houston's) offense is going to continue to be this bad," Matt says. "The Astros are 4-for-32 with runners in scoring position, they've left 32 men on in this series. They can't keep doing that. … I believe they're going to start hitting with runners in scoring position."
Hartstein closes out The Early Edge with a pair of NFL picks. The first is Over 53.5 receiving yards for Buffalo's Emmanuel Sanders (-115) in the Dolphins-Bills game (1 p.m. ET). "This guy's gone Over in four straight," he says. "The Dolphins give up a ton of explosive pass plays, which we saw last week. They're 31st in terms of giving up the deep ball. Well, that's what Manny Sanders does. The two elite corners for the Dolphins are not playing elite this year."
Larry also likes Under 23.5 points for Cleveland (-110) in the Steelers-Browns contest (1 p.m. ET). "I think this is going to be a grinding divisional game and it's going to be a run game," he says. "With Baker Mayfield coming back, I don't think that makes a huge difference offensively against the Steelers, who in their last 18 road games have held their opponents Under their team total 12 times."
