Allan Bell is joined by expert sports bettors Mike McClure and Micah Roberts on The Early Edge podcast. They give you their best bets for college football for Saturday, Sept. 4.
Bell starts things off with the SportsLine Play of the Day: Under 56.5 points in the Georgia Tech-Northern Illinois game (7:30 p.m. ET). "That Under is covering in 72 percent of SportsLine advanced data simulations," he says.
McClure has a pair of college football picks. The first is San Jose State (+14) to cover against USC (5 p.m. ET). "This team has a lot of experience," he says. "They also got to play in Week 0 last week -- huge benefit for them."
He also likes Nevada (+3) to cover at Cal (10:30 p.m. ET). "I have some real questions about [Cal quarterback] Chase Garbers," McClure says. "If you look at last season, the kid was sacked a significant number of times."
Roberts' pair of picks also comes in college football. The first is Marshall (-2.5) to cover against Navy (3:30 p.m. ET). "[Marshall has a] new coach this year," he says. "They held onto to the offensive coordinator. They've got the quarterback back as well. They're going to put a hurting on Navy, [which] only returns three offensive starters."
Roberts' last play is UCLA (+2.5) to cover against LSU (8:30 p.m. ET).Â
Those are just five of the 17 college football picks from The Early Edge crew on Saturday.
