Today's sports betting picks: Why Washington will cover against Stanford, plus more college football and MLB best bets for Saturday

Host Allan Bell is joined by sports betting experts Micah Roberts and John Bollman on The Early Edge podcast. They give you their best bets for college football and MLB for Saturday, Sept. 24.

After breaking down the storylines and Micah giving a rundown of Sunday's NASCAR race at Texas Motor Speedway (3:30 p.m. ET), he offers up his college football pick. 

Roberts is backing Washington -13.5 at home against Stanford (10:30 p.m.) "I don't think they've reached their ceiling yet," he says of the Huskies. "I think they're just getting started. Three games, three wins, three covers and three Overs. These guys score, and score often."   

Allan also has a college football play, and he is on USC -6 on the road against Oregon State (9:30 p.m. ET). Bell knows Corvallis can be a tough place to play, but he doesn't expect the Trojans to have any problems. "I think USC is fantastic," he says. "These guys are putting up points big. I don't think Oregon State is all that good."   

Bollman has three baseball picks, and the first is the Braves -130 against the Phillies (4:05 p.m. ET). Atlanta has lost three straight, but Kyle Wright is on the mound Saturday, and he is their stopper. He is 12-1 with a 3.39 ERA in his past 15 starts. "The Braves just always seem to win behind him, for whatever reason" John says.

John also is backing the Guardians -120 against the Rangers (7:05 p.m. ET), with Cleveland having the AL Central title in its sights. His final play is the Blue Jays -105 against the Rays (6:10 p.m. ET) with Alek Manoah (14-7, 2.40 ERA) on the mound for Toronto.
