Today's sports betting picks: Why the Cowboys will cover against the Packers, plus more NFL best bets for Sunday, Nov. 13
The SportsLine crew shares its expert bets for Sunday, Nov. 13, on The Early Edge podcast
Jonathan Coachman is joined by sports betting experts Mike McClure, R.J. White and Larry Hartstein on The Early Edge podcast. They give you their best bets for the NFL for Sunday, Nov. 13.
McClure starts things off with a prop play. He likes Over 93.5 receiving yards for Miami's Tyreek Hill (-115) in the Dolphins-Browns game (1 p.m. ET). "Looking for another 100-yard game from Tyreek," Mike says. "Quickly about the Browns, they play Cover 3 at one of the highest rates in the NFL. Tua (Tagovailoa) has the best passer rating against Cover 3 over the last two seasons.Â
"We always think about how man-to-man coverage is ideal for Tyreek, and that's true. It's just difficult to guard him in any spot. But what he does exceptionally well is find holes in the zone. … I think the Browns are going to be able to push the Dolphins. Tyreek gets there through sheer volume."
White is up next with a trio of plays. The first is a teaser: The Broncos +8.5 against the Titans (1 p.m. ET) and the Cardinals +8.5 versus the Rams (4:25 p.m. ET). "No offense needed a bye more than Denver," he says. "I think they're going to improve, play a little more up-tempo, maybe take the Tennessee defense off-guard a little bit.Â
"Arizona's offensive line is beat up, so people aren't going to want to play them. That just makes them as bad as the Rams' offensive line, which has been one of the worst in the league. Then you look at the backup quarterbacks here. Colt McCoy won in San Francisco and Seattle in place of (Kyler) Murray last year, had great stats in those games. Veteran quarterback, I trust him way more than I do (John) Wolford. So if both (starting) quarterbacks are ruled out, I think that favors Arizona."
R.J.'s second play is Over 229.5 passing yards for Denver's Russell Wilson (-117) in the Broncos-Titans contest. "I expect Denver's offense to be more up-tempo, like I said, coming out of the bye," he says. "Wilson topped 230 yards in three of his last four before the bye, including one game with just 25 attempts. It's a MASH unit over there (on Tennessee's defense), so I think that really favors Denver's passing game."
Finally, White likes Over 17.5 rushing attempts for Indianapolis' Jonathan Taylor (-113) in the Colts-Raiders game (4:05 p.m. ET). "He's the workhorse here. Topped 20 carries in three of his four games with a 70% snap rate earlier in the season," he says. "You look at the new coach, Jeff Saturday. What do you think the offensive plan is going to be for Saturday? It's going to be run it on first down, run it on second down, run it on third down. Just keep running it, we don't want Sam Ehlinger to throw the ball at all."
Hartstein wraps things up with three plays of his own. First, he likes the Cowboys (-3.5) to cover against the Packers (4:25 p.m. ET). "It's a mismatch up front," he says. "There's no Rashan Gary, there's no De'Vondre Campbell, there's no (Eric) Stokes. Those are three key defenders that the Packers lost. We all know how bad their offense is. The Cowboys lead the league in sacks, they only give up 16 points a game.Â
"I don't care if Zeke Elliott doesn't play because Tony Pollard is more explosive anyway. Mike McCarthy coming back to Green Bay, he's 6-2 as a road favorite against the number with the Cowboys. Dak (Prescott) is also very good as a road favorite."
Next, Larry likes Over 58.5 rushing yards for Chicago's Justin Fields (-115) in the Bears-Lions contest (1 p.m. ET). "Shattered this four straight weeks. A lot of designed runs," he says. "We know how bad the Lions are on regular running plays, they're actually the worst team in the league at defending scrambles. This just sets up for a monster day for Justin Fields."
Hartstein's last play is Over 62.5 receiving yards for Cleveland's Amari Cooper (-115) in the Browns-Dolphins matchup. "The Dolphins play a lot of man coverage. They're actually very weak in the secondary. That is their one weakness," he says. "If this game plays out like I think, with the Dolphins ahead, Cooper is gonna get his. He's gone Over three of his last four. I also should mention David Njoku is out. That's about five or six targets a game, and his backup (Harrison Bryant) does not really get targeted."
