Today's sports betting picks: Why the Buccaneers and Cowboys will go Under the total, plus more NFL best bets for Sunday, Sept. 11
The SportsLine crew shares its expert bets for Sunday, Sept. 11, on The Early Edge podcast
Jonathan Coachman is joined by sports betting experts Mike McClure, R.J. White, Larry Hartstein and Allan Bell on The Early Edge podcast. They give you their best bets for the NFL for Sunday, Sept. 11.
McClure starts things off with his play. He likes Over 37.5 receiving yards for Green Bay's Aaron Jones (-115) in the Packers-Vikings game (4:25 p.m. ET). "He's a player where we've routinely seen the number be between 29 and as high as 46-47, depending on the game," Mike says. "I think the number's just a little soft here, considering what Aaron Rodgers has to work with. … I see a lot of passing volume headed in the direction of Aaron Jones."
White is up next with his play. He likes Under 50.5 points (-110) in the Buccaneers-Cowboys contest on Sunday Night Football (8:20 p.m. ET). "There's offensive-line issues on both sides, at tackle for the Cowboys and also in the middle for Tampa Bay. (Tom) Brady doesn't like to be pressured up the middle, so we'll see how he handles that," R.J. says. "The Dallas wide-receiver depth chart is pretty bare behind CeeDee Lamb. They might be starting Noah Brown as the No. 2 receiver, which is not what you want to see. Tampa Bay should have Chris Godwin. I expect his snaps to be limited. … Dallas' defense plays much better at home, 10 points per game better last year."
Hartstein follows with a trio of player prop plays. First, he likes Over 2.5 touchdown passes for Kansas City's Patrick Mahomes (+135) in the Chiefs-Cardinals game (4:25 p.m. ET). "He's the best Week 1 quarterback we've ever seen. He's gone over this all four years that he's started in Week 1," he says. "That Arizona secondary is not good. They lost their starting corner to a tragic cooking oil accident, he's got severe burns. Another corner is questionable. I just think it sets up beautifully for a nice statement game where Tyreek Hill said Patrick Mahomes needs him. I think Patrick Mahomes shows he doesn't need him all that much, at least in Week 1."
Larry's second play is Over 65.5 receiving yards for Philadelphia's A.J. Brown (-115) in the Eagles-Lions contest (1 p.m. ET). "He has a tremendous matchup against these corners," he says. "They have just been raving about him. I don't think (the Eagles) are going to be as run-heavy as everyone assumes. I think they're going to come out throwing the ball because Jalen Hurts is taking the next step this season."
Hartstein's final play is Under 33.5 receiving yards for Carolina's Robbie Anderson (-110) in the Panthers-Browns showdown (1 p.m. ET). "This guy talked about maybe he might retire, he had a quad issue, he's coming off career lows," he says. "He's got Baker Mayfield throwing it to him, but I think Baker Mayfield is going to be looking at Christian McCaffrey and DJ Moore. The secondary for the Browns is top notch. Denzel Ward will be on Robbie Anderson a lot of this game."
Bell wraps things up with two plays in AB's No Fly Zone. The first is Over 0.5 interceptions for New York's Joe Flacco (-130) in the Jets-Ravens game (1 p.m. ET). "Who's he going up against?" he asks. "Oh, I don't know, John Harbaugh, who knows everything about him. He's going to put one up."
Allan's second play is Over 0.5 interceptions for Miami's Tua Tagovailoa (+105) in the Dolphins-Patriots contest (1 p.m. ET). "Two reasons," he says. "No. 1 - I think this Dolphins offense and their new head coach, they're going to be pressing a little bit. And No. 2 - New head coaches do not usually fare well against Bill Belichick and his defense."
