Today's sports betting picks: Why the Astros tie the World Series in Game 2, plus college football and NHL best bets for Saturday
The SportsLine crew shares its expert bets for Saturday, Oct. 29 on The Early Edge podcast

Host Allan Bell is joined by sports betting experts Mike McClure, Micah Roberts and Allie O'Neill on The Early Edge podcast. They give you their best bets for the World Series, college football and NHL for Saturday, Oct. 29.
The guys start by breaking down the storylines, with Micah offering his thoughts on Sunday's NASCAR race at Martinsville (2 p.m. ET). The expert says there will be a lot of different strategies this week with eight NASCAR drivers fighting for the final four spots in next week's Championship 4 race at Phoenix.
Mike starts off the picks with his First-Quarter Under, taking Ohio State vs. Penn State (Noon ET) Under 13.5 in the first stanza at -110. "It's an early game for Ohio State, on the road, where the Penn State crowd will have an impact," Mike says. "Both these teams really kind of started slow last week ... this one has a slight edge for me here."
Allie is taking it easy on NHL as she awaits lineups, but she has a couple of leans from Saturday's games. She is recommending Under 5.5 goals on Rangers vs. Stars (2 p.m. ET) and Over 6 on Avalanche vs. Islanders (7:30 p.m. ET).
Allan has two college football picks, going Tennessee -3.5 in the first quarter against Kentucky (7 p.m. ET). The Vols are the fastest-scoring team in the SEC, while Kentucky is the slowest in the nation. "I think that you're going to see the most aggressive start to a game in Josh Heupel's career at Tennessee today," Bell says. "Because he knows if he can get up 14-0, take care of business, they're done. Kentucky cannot play that game, whatsoever."
Bell also likes Navy Over 27.5 Team Total at home against Temple (3:30 p.m. ET). "I'm just fading Temple, in everything that they do," Bell says. "I just do not believe in this football team. They're one of the worst in the country."
Micah also has two plays, the first a college football pick from San Diego State vs. Fresno State (10:30 p.m. ET), taking Over 42.5 points. Roberts says he expects quarterback Jake Haener, the Mountain West preseason player of the year, to start for Fresno State. "This will be a fast-paced game," Roberts says.
Roberts also has an MLB pick from World Series Game 2, and he is backing Houston -134 in the Astros vs. Phillies matchup (8:03 p.m. ET). "This is the script that was made for the Phillies, this is what they've been doing," Micah says. "They take care of Game 1 on the road ... now they go to Game 2, where they lost in the previous two series."
Framber Valdez is starting for the Astros, and he went five innings, allowing two hits while striking out 10 against Philadelphia in the final regular-season series. "He's pitching so well right now," Roberts says, and he expects Houston to tie the series, and he is leaning to the Under, as well.
