Mike is really excited about some early basketball, and the team discusses the importance of rest in the NBA. Justin has been on fire on his college basketball picks after a bumpy start, and he notes that the ups and downs are to be expected.
The Coach delivers the SportsLine Play of the Day, backing the Oklahoma City Thunder -3 over the Houston Rockets at 8 p.m. ET. Neither team is playing well, but the Rockets are really struggling and the SportsLine simulations have the Thunder covering 66 percent of the time.
It's a heavy day of NCAA hoops, and Justin is taking Stanford -13 against Valparaiso at 8:30 p.m. ET. He isn't holding the Cardinal's loss to Santa Clara against them and expect them to bounce back. He also likes Utah Valley at +1.5 over Long Beach State at 10 p.m.
Mike is going with a pair of basketball picks and is fading his beloved Chicago Bulls in the NBA. He is taking Portland -1.5 in its 10 p.m. ET matchup. He expects both Damian Lillard and Norman Powell to play and is fading the Bulls in the middle of the road trip and coming off back-to-back wins in Los Angeles. Mike also likes Houston Baptist to cover the 26.5-point spread against Texas A&M in their 1 p.m. ET matchup, benefiting from the Aggies' slow pace.
Zack is on Indiana -5 over St. John's at 9 p.m. ET. He likes the Hoosiers' intangibles and expects them "to answer the call here."
Larry's featured college basketball pick is a finally healthy Northern Iowa team at +13.5 against Arkansas. The Razorbacks have been winning but haven't been terribly impressive, so he expects it to be fairly close.
