Today's picks: Why the Tigers will beat the White Sox, plus more MLB and soccer for Sunday, July 10

The SportsLine crew shares its expert bets for Sunday, July 10, on The Early Edge podcast

Allan Bell is joined by expert sports bettors Mike McClure, John Bollman and Micah Roberts on The Early Edge podcast. They give you their best bets for Major League Baseball and soccer for Sunday, July 10.

Bell starts things off with the SportsLine Plays of the Day, which is in soccer. The pick is courtesy of Jon "Buckets" Eimer, who likes both teams to score (+105) in the Brazilian Serie A match between Corinthians and Flamengo (3 p.m. ET).

McClure is up next with a play in MLB. He likes Over 4.5 runs for New York (-120) in the Yankees-Red Sox series finale (7 p.m. ET. "(Nick) Pivetta's average exit velocity against (is) 91 miles per hour," Mike says. "He's getting barreled up about seven percent of the time. Not a recipe for success against this Yankees lineup, especially in a prime-time spot after they got beat last night in walk-off fashion. Love this spot for the Yankees to bounce back and put the fifth run on the board at some point in this game."

Bollman follows with an MLB play of his own. He likes the Tigers (+160) to defeat the White Sox in the final contest of their four-game set (2:10 p.m. ET). "(Chicago's) Michael Kopech has honestly just been terrible lately," John says. "He's been allowing multiple walks, he allowed four home runs last game, he's been allowing home runs in general. He's allowed 16 earned (runs) in his last 21 innings pitched. All of these starts have come after he had to leave his Rangers start early because of injury, so he could be pitching injured. (Detroit's) Drew Hutchison pitched really well in his most recent spot start, but all we really need for him is to keep it close with this Tigers bullpen."

Roberts wraps things up with a play in MLB. He likes the Orioles (-105) to beat the Angels and complete a four-game sweep (12:05 p.m. ET). "I think we've got a spot here where we're going to see the bullpens in action, and that's bad news for the Angels," Micah says. "The Baltimore Orioles have one of the better bullpens - 2.41 ERA, that's pretty good. … (With) the seven-game win streak they have going, they're only three games back of the last wild-card spot. … This is a fun team right now."
