Today's picks: Why the Astros will beat the Angels, plus more MLB, PGA and soccer for Sunday, April 10

Jonathan Coachman is joined by expert sports bettors Mike McClure, John Bollman and Larry Hartstein on The Early Edge podcast. They give you their best bets for MLB, the PGA and soccer for Sunday, April 10.

Coach starts things off with two SportsLine Plays of the Day. The first is in soccer: Both teams to score in the Manchester City-Liverpool match in the Premier League (11:30 a.m. ET). "Both teams have dynamic offenses," he says. "It's a little juicy but worth the squeeze."

The second is in Major League Baseball: The Mets (-140) to beat the Nationals and complete a season-opening four-game sweep (1:35 p.m. ET). "The Mets are just a good team this year. They spent a lot of money," Coach says. "The Nationals - they are not."

McClure is up next with a play in the PGA. He likes Justin Thomas (+105) for a top-five finish in The Masters (2:20 p.m. ET). "Justin Thomas is absolutely crushing the strokes game, tee to green and on the approach," Mike says. "He's gained almost five strokes on the field on the approach the last two days, putting himself in great position to have some putts drop here in the final round."

Coach jumps in with his own play for The Masters. He likes Cam Smith (-138) over Scottie Scheffler in the final round (2:40 p.m. ET). "He's been my guy since Day One," Jonathan says of Smith. "Scheffler is just going to try to get to the finish line. He's not going to try to push the lead out there. Cam Smith will. He's got a three-shot deficit, and I think he makes that up and wins the gold tournament, in addition."

Bollman follows with a play in MLB. He likes the Astros (-115) to beat the Angels in their series finale (4:07 p.m. ET). "The Angels used all their top bullpen arms (on Saturday), and even if they do pitch today, they should be tired," John says. "The Astros are 15-7 against the Angels since the start of last season. … I think if the Astros can keep this close, they'll win it in the bullpens."

Hartstein wraps things up with an MLB pick. He is on the Cardinals (-1.5 runs at -102) to cover against the Pirates in the third contest of their four-game series (2:15 p.m. ET). "Steven Matz is making his (Cardinals) debut. He looked great in the spring," Larry says. "(Pittsburgh's) Bryse Wilson has a good arm but has not put it together. His ERA was almost 7.00 in the spring. … The current Cardinals who should be in the lineup today are 11-for-25 lifetime against Bryse Wilson."
