The SportsLine crew shares its expert bets for Monday, March 28, on The Early Edge podcast
Jonathan Coachman is joined by expert sports bettors Zack Cimini, John Bollman and Calvin Wetzel on The Early Edge podcast. They give you their best bets for college basketball and the NHL for Monday, March 28.
Allan starts things off with the SportsLine Play of the Day, which is in college hoops: Southern Utah (+8) to cover against Fresno State in the semifinals of The Basketball Classic (10 p.m. ET). "The last two seasons, they're 43-15," Coach says regarding Southern Utah. "They played a really hard out-of-conference schedule. (And) the Maestro is on this play today."
Wetzel is up next with a play in the 2022 Women's NCAA Tournament. He likes Louisville (-4.5) to cover against Michigan in their Elite Eight matchup (9 p.m. ET). Calvin was unable to comment on the game, however, due to internet connection issues.
Bollman follows with an NHL pick. He likes the Capitals (+115) to defeat the Hurricanes (7 p.m. ET). "The Caps have won their last two games and six of their last eight, while the Canes have lost five of their last seven," John says. "That included a game at Carolina that Washington won 4-3. The Caps are actually 3-0 against the Canes this season and have won the last five regular-season games. The Caps haven't lost the season series since 2014 and they've been playing much better as of late."
Cimini wraps things up with a pick in college basketball. He likes South Alabama (-1.5) to cover against Coastal Carolina in the semifinals of The Basketball Classic (8 p.m. ET). "I think they can pull through in this," Zack says. "They know Coastal Carolina very well. The key for me here is how well they played at home this year - 14-2 overall. So we'll take South Alabama on the small number."
