SportsLine's experts share their featured bets on the Early Edge podcast for Wednesday, July 14
Jonathan Coachman is joined by top sports betting experts Zack Cimini, Mike McClure and Larry Hartstein on the Early Edge podcast, powered by SportsLine. Get the best plays for the NBA Finals, British Open, ATP Newport and Copa Libertadores soccer for Wednesday, July 14.
With Game 4 of Suns-Bucks on the slate at 9 p.m. ET, Larry looks at the recent line movement and spotlights key trends such as Milwaukee's home dominance and scoring in the first halves and third quarters.Â
The Coach highlights a pair of SportsLine Plays of the Day from Copa Libertadores. He is backing Velez Sarsfield at +110 vs. Barcelona SC at 6:15 p.m. ET and Universidad Catolica vs. Palmeiras Over 2.5 goals at 6:15 p.m. ET. Palmeiras is averaging more than goals in the group stage.Â
Mike is enjoying afternoon tennis this week, and he has some ATP Newport plays for us to consider. In the Hall of Fame Open, he is on Alexander Bublik over Ivo Karlovic at 12:20 p.m. ET in -1.5 sets at +120. Karlovic has a powerful serve and a height advantage, but Bublik is simply the better player. He is also going with Sam Querrey to take the first set and match at -138 over Maxime Cressey at 3 p.m. ET. Querrey is a master on grass and has the edge in experience.Â
in the NBA Finals, Zack is riding with the Bucks -4 over the Suns. "I think the extra day off is going to benefit the home team," he says. "The pressure is on Phoenix here. The Suns have not lost consecutive playoff games since Games 2 and 3 of the first round to the Lakers. Milwaukee has been stellar at home, 8-1 in the postseason. And the Suns have a problem here. Giannis is getting to the free throw line relentlessly."Â
Looking ahead to the British Open, which tees off very early Thursday morning from England, the Coach serves up a deluxe plate of plays. He is on Shane Lowry -110 over the struggling Bryson DeChambeau and Jordan Spieth -125 over Rory McIlroy. Spieth's short game is "immaculate." He also recommends Louis Oosthuizen to finish in the Top 10 at +240 and uncovers a gem of a play in Lucas Herbert to finish in the Top 20 at +300.Â
Larry finishes up with an NBA Finals flourish, going back to Cam Johnson as a prop play, taking him Over 8.5 points. Johnson has been vaulting Over the number frequently recently and will bounce back from an off night from deep in Game 3.Â
