Jonathan Coachman is joined by top betting experts Justin Perri, Zack Cimini, Larry Hartstein and Matt Snyder on the Early Edge podcast, powered by SportsLine. Get prime plays for the the World Series and the NBA for Wednesday, Oct. 27.
Justin looks at how the Charlie Morton injury affects the Atlanta pitching staff and bullpen for the rest of the World Series. Matt considers a very unique trend involving home teams in the Fall Classic.Â
Justin is going for the Over of 8.5 runs in Game 2 of the World Series between the Braves and Astros at 8:09 p.m. ET. He expects Houston to bounce back and avoid getting into an 0-2 hole. The Astros will awaken on offense and the Braves are bringing the lumber with Freddie Freeman and Jorge Soler. Justin also points out that Yuli Gurriel is a lefty masher, and is taking him to go Over 1.5 hits and 1.5 total bases.Â
Matt is riding with the Astros on the money line at -111. "Max Fried is far above his career high in innings pitched to this point in a season," he says. "The Dodgers got to him in his last game. The Astros eat righties for breakfast. They only had two runs last night but I'm kind of looking at them like a sleeping giant on offense right now. They're going to wake up against Max Fried probably the second time through the order." Matt also agrees with Justin on taking the Over.Â
In the NBA, Zack is on the Blazers -2 over the Grizzlies at 10 p.m. ET. Damian Lillard is off to a bad start, but will recapture his better form on Wednesday. Larry's featured prop play is Devonte Graham Over 18.5 points and rebounds in Hawks-Pelicans at 7:30 p.m. ET. Graham's role is increasing and he has been logging heavy minutes.Â
