Today's picks: Top Joe Burrow and Trevor Lawrence props in Jaguars-Bengals, plus more NFL and MLB plays for Thursday

Jonathan Coachman is joined by featured betting experts Larry Hartstein, Matt Severance and Allan Bell on the Early Edge podcast, powered by SportsLine. Get prime plays for the NFL, MLB and college football for Thursday, Sept. 30.

Matt kicks off the storylines segment talking about Trevor Lawrence vs. Joe Burrow as the Jaguars face the Bengals on Thursday Night Football (8:20 p.m. ET). Rookie QBs are just 1-10 straight up and against the spread, and the one win came in a matchup of two rookie QBs with Mac Jones' Patriots winning and covering against Zach Wilson's Jets. Coach reminds the audience to join the Early Edge crew for a livestream on the YouTube channel ahead of the Thursday Night Football matchup. Allan then digs into Cardinals-Rams for another storyline to monitor in Week 4: Sean McVay is 8-0 straight up and 7-0-1 against the spread against Arizona in his head coaching tenure.

The Coach then drops the SportsLine Play of the Day, with Jaguars vs. Bengals going Over 46 and continuing a trend of primetime games sailing over the total..

Matt shares his top three plays of the day across three different sports, starting with the Astros -165 over the Rays (7:10 p.m. ET). Tampa Bay clinched the best record in the American League last night, so Matt expects the team to rest players in what amounts to a throwaway game. Without a huge lean on either of the Thursday football matchups in pro and college, Matt then turns to the weekend to share his picks for Notre Dame-Cincinnati and Ravens-Broncos.

Coach then jumps in to share a bonus pick from Mike McClure, with Trevor Lawrence going over his rushing prop, as Mike expects the Jacksonville quarterback to top 14.5 yards on the ground. Allan follows with another prop from Thursday Night Football, taking Joe Burrow Over 247.5 passing yards. "If you think the Bengals are going to win in a rout, he's going to hit that number," Allan says. "If you think the game is going to be kind of tight ... we're gonna hit that number."

Larry closes out the picks segment, taking Tyler Boyd to go Over 59.5 receiving yards in Jaguars-Bengals with Tee Higgins sidelined. "He plays in the slot and the Jags are terrible against the slot," Larry says, adding that he loves the matchup against Jacksonville's slot corner.
