SportsLine's Projection Model has generated picks and best bets for the San Diego Padres vs. Cincinnati Reds on Saturday afternoon

By@SportsLineUpdated: Jul 01, 2023 12:29PM UTC . 3 min read

The Cincinnati Reds (44-38) will try to continue their magical run when they face the San Diego Padres (37-45) on Saturday afternoon. Cincinnati has won three straight games and 15 of its last 18, including a 7-5 win over San Diego in 11 innings on Friday. The Reds erased a 4-2 deficit in the tenth inning and walked it off on a two-run homer the following frame. Rookie southpaw Brandon Williamson (1-1, 5.82 ERA) will start for Cincinnati, while veteran right-hander Michael Wacha is going to be on the mound for the Padres.

The game is slated to begin at 1:40 p.m. ET from Great American Ball Park. The Padres are listed at -165 (risk $165 to win $100) on the money line in the latest Reds vs. Padres odds from Caesars Sportsbook, while the over/under for total runs scored is 11. (see the latest lines for every game on our MLB odds page).

Before making any Padres vs. Reds picks, you NEED to see the latest MLB predictions from the SportsLine Projection Model.

The SportsLine Projection Model simulates every MLB game 10,000 times. It went 331-285 on top-rated MLB money-line picks (+357) over the past two seasons. It has opened the 2023 MLB season on a 36-28 roll on all-top rated MLB picks, including a 9-2 mark on top-rated run-line picks (+450). Anybody who has followed it has seen profitable returns!

The model knows Cincinnati opened the series with a 7-5 win in 11 innings when Spencer Steer hit a two-out, two-run homer. Cincinnati has won 15 of its last 18 games, including each of its last three to remain in first place in the National League Central. The Reds began their second half of the season on Friday after posting a 15-game improvement from the halfway point of 2022.

The model also knows San Diego's starting pitching has been strong this season, with Seth Lugo giving his team their 38th quality start of the year on Friday, which leads the NL. Wacha missed his last start due to shoulder fatigue, but he is the ace of the staff. He has nine quality starts this season, including his last outing on June 19 when he allowed two runs and four hits across six innings at San Francisco.

Now, it has set its sights on Reds vs. Padres. We can tell you the model is leaning Under on the run total, and it also says one side of the money line has ALL the value! You ABSOLUTELY need to see it before locking in any MLB picks.
