NFL Week 6 power rankings: Bills great value to win Super Bowl, futures odds, sim projections for all 32 teams
With Week 5 in the books, the SportsLine Projection Model has simulated the season 10,000 times and has some surprising futures projections.
The Buffalo Bills faced a huge test in Week 5 and passed with flying colors. As a result, the Bills remain the No. 1 team in the SportsLine Projection Model's power ratings and are a near lock to make the playoffs, which they do in 99.9% of the 10,000 simulations the model has run on the rest of the 2021 NFL season. But not only that, the Bills represent great value in the futures market according to the model. That's because Buffalo has a 45.9% chance to win the AFC and advance to the Super Bowl after five weeks, versus just +250 odds. The Bills also have a 28.6% chance of being crowned champions, well beyond the implied odds of 15.4% in the futures market.
Updated NFL futures odds from Caesars Sportsbook make Bills co-favorites to win the Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at +550 each. The Kansas City Chiefs drop to +750 odds after their loss to Buffalo, with the Los Angeles Rams next at +850. The Green Bay Packers and Baltimore Ravens have the next shortest odds at +1200, followed by the last remaining undefeated team in the Arizona Cardinals at +1300.
Before you place any futures bets on who wins the Super Bowl and each conference or division, you need to see what the SportsLine Projection model has to say.
The model, which simulates every NFL game 10,000 times, is up almost $7,900 for $100 players on top-rated NFL picks since its inception six-plus years ago. It went a sizzling 24-14 on top-rated NFL picks last season, returning more than $800. The model also enters Week 6 of the 2021 season on an incredible 125-83 run on top-rated NFL picks that dates back to the 2017 season.
The model also ranked in the top 10 on NFLPickWatch four of the past five years on straight-up NFL picks and beat more than 94 percent of CBS Sports Football Pick'em players four times during that span. Anyone who has followed it is WAY UP.
Below, you can find the power ranking for all 32 teams based on the model's "neutral sim%," which is calculated based on the number of simulations they win playing healthy (in February) vs. every other team on a neutral field. You'll also find the simulation's projection for how often each team wins their division, conference and the Super Bowl, compared to the current available odds, along with notes from the model's creator, Stephen Oh.
