NFL Week 15 power rankings: Chiefs jump four spots to No. 1, plus futures odds, sim projections for all 32 teams

With Week 14 in the books, the SportsLine Projection Model has simulated the season 10,000 times and has some surprising futures projections.

This week's NFL results led to a big shakeup at the top of our power rankings. The Cardinals, who had just ascended to the No. 2 spot, fell precipitously after their loss to the Rams on Monday night. You can see how far we dropped them below, but perhaps more notable is the team that jumped all the way from No. 5 to No. 1: the Kansas City Chiefs.

Even as the Chiefs have racked up win after win following a 3-4 start to the season, their offense still hasn't looked like it's clicked at the level it's reached in previous seasons. Well, unless they're playing the Las Vegas Raiders. Since Week 6, the Chiefs have scored 77 points in five games against non-Raiders opponents, and 89 points in two games against the flailing Raiders defense.

Now, it's possible the Chiefs offense has truly turned a corner and is ready for a big finish as Kansas City bulldozes its way through the AFC in January en route to yet another Super Bowl berth. But this version of the Chiefs appears to be driven by how dominant the defense has become since trading for Melvin Ingram and moving Chris Jones back inside. The Chiefs have allowed less than 10 points in four of their last five games, and in the outlier they only gave up 14 in a 27-point win over the Raiders in the first meeting between the two teams. If the offense has truly removed all doubt it's operating at full capacity, this is the best team in football by a wide margin.

Updated NFL futures odds from Caesars Sportsbook make the Tampa Bay Buccaneers the favorites to win the Super Bowl at +500, with the Chiefs holding strong in the second spot at +600. The Green Bay Packers stay in the third spot at +700 following their win over the Chicago Bears. Next are the New England Patriots at +750, who saw their chances at winning the division improve with a loss by the Buffalo Bills. The Arizona Cardinals and Los Angeles Rams come next at +900 and +1100, respectively, following the Rams' Monday night win. The Dallas Cowboys sit at +1200, with the Bills dropping to +1400. The Tennessee Titans and Los Angeles Chargers check in at +2000, with no other team lower than +3000.

Before you place any futures bets on who wins the Super Bowl and each conference or division, you need to see what the SportsLine Projection Model has to say.

The model, which simulates every NFL game 10,000 times, is up almost $7,000 for $100 players on top-rated NFL picks since its inception six-plus years ago. The model enters Week 15 of the 2021 season on an incredible 132-96 run on top-rated NFL picks that dates back to the 2017 season.

The model also ranked in the top 10 on NFLPickWatch four of the past five years on straight-up NFL picks and beat more than 94 percent of CBS Sports Football Pick'em players four times during that span. Anyone who has followed it is WAY UP!

Below, you can find the power ranking for all 32 teams based on the model's "neutral sim%," which is calculated based on the number of simulations they win playing healthy (in February) vs. every other team on a neutral field. You'll also find the simulation's projection for how often each team wins their division, conference and the Super Bowl, compared to the current available odds, along with notes from the model's creator, Stephen Oh.
