NFL Week 1 ATS power ratings: Projecting every Week 1 spread to find value compared to sportsbook lines
Football is back, and we're breaking down the Week 1 slate to look for line value against the spread

It's finally time for some real football. The NFL season kicks off this week with the Seahawks hosting the Patriots on Wednesday, Sept. 9 in a Super Bowl rematch before moving to Australia for the first time in history on Thursday when the 49ers and Rams square off. Lines have been out on both games for months, but do they properly reflect the value of each team and the situation?
That's where NFL ATS power ratings come in. Each week during the season, I share my spread ratings for each team and identify the matchups where I think sportsbooks are most off on their lines. This is the first step in my analytical process, which has helped me stay profitable over the last nine years while making more than 1,500 NFL ATS picks at SportsLine and cashing twice in large Las Vegas competitions.
My projected spreads have four games at least three points off the market numbers for Week 1 as we near kickoff, making them potential betting opportunities if the market is misvaluing the teams involved. I'll break down where I see the most value on the line after sharing my full Week 1 NFL ATS ratings below.
