Jalen Tolbert's advanced analytical profile is among the most exciting of any receiver in the 2022 class. He has a larger body of work and nearly identical peak efficiency metrics to Jameson Williams, who runs a similar route tree and was selected 12th overall. Tolbert's draft profile is not without its red flags -- he is one of the oldest receiver prospects in the 2022 class, and his production profile was accumulated against a lower level of competition.
His 2021 production profile warrants Tolbert consideration as a top-eight receiver and late first-round pick for dynasty rookie draft purposes, but you likely won't have to grab him anywhere near that range. Even though he carries third-round draft capital and was selected by a high-powered offense that just lost one of its top receivers, Tolbert isn't selected until the mid-to-late second round in most rookie drafts. The advanced analytics behind his 2021 season suggest that Tolbert could be worth much more than that for Dynasty purposes, but can we trust his production at South Alabama to translate against a higher level of competition?
SportsLine's Fantasy analyst Jacob Gibbs provides a data-driven deep dive to answer that question and address anything that stood out from his advanced statistical profile.
