Fantasy Football: Projecting the 100-target players for 2018

Identifying the receivers, tight ends and running backs who will be targeted 100 or more times in a given year is one of the most sure-fire ways to load your Fantasy Football team up with high-producing players.

And before you try to figure out who those 100-target players will be this year, you need to see what CBS Sports Senior Analyst Heath Cummings has to say. 

Last season, Cummings was all over Alshon's Jeffery's resurgence with the Philadelphia Eagles. Even though he'd been injured and inconsistent in his prior two years in Chicago, Cummings predicted he'd get 120 targets in Philly. The result? Jeffery was a massive piece of the Eagles' Super Bowl-winning offense, recording exactly 120 targets, as Cummings projected, and his highest number of catches (57) and touchdowns (9) since 2014. 

Now Cummings has studied all the pass catchers for 2018 and is projecting which ones will go over 100 targets. 

One of his top picks that we'll give away Giants wide receive Odell Beckham Jr., who he projects to finish fourth in the league with 164 targets. 

Beckham appeared in just four games in 2017 after breaking his ankle. It's been a tumultuous time since then marked by trade and holdout rumors as he and the Giants work towards a possible new contract. New York has also retooled its offense, drafting running back Saquon Barkley No. 2 overall, cutting veteran receiver Brandon Marshall and overhauling the offensive line since Beckham last saw the field. 

But despite all the drama and changes, Cummings believes Beckham will return to the elite player he was the first three years of his career, when he averaged 153 targets per year. Don't be afraid to take him with a high pick in your Fantasy Football drafts.

Cummings is also calling for a player who hasn't had over 100 targets in several season to hit that number this year, and has identified a sleeper you're not evening thinking about who will hit triple-digits. Picks likes these are the winning edge you need in your leagues this year.
