Best Ball leagues are becoming incredibly popular. In this season-long format, participants draft one roster for the entire year, and the top-scoring players each week count towards your totals. There are no transactions, matchups or weekly lineups. That means nailing your draft is absolutely critical, so before going on the clock in any Best Ball leagues, you need to see what SportsLine's highly-rated expert Jacob Gibbs has to say.
Gibbs uses a data-driven approach that has helped him consistently provide accurate rankings at every position. He has proven to be one of the nation's most accurate Fantasy rankers in recent years -- posting the eighth-most accurate results over the past three seasons, according to Fantasy Pros.
Gibbs has five must-see tips for Best Ball drafters.
Now Gibbs has released his 2022 Fantasy football Best Ball rankings for SportsLine members. Gibbs says that in Best Ball, drafters should be more concerned with the top of a player's range of outcomes, particularly on a weekly basis. Gibbs targets high-upside players who can deliver league-winning upside if things break in their favor in 2022.
We can tell you Gibbs is extremely high on Tampa Bay running back Leonard Fournette. Gibbs has Fournette ranked as his RB5 for Best Ball formats, up from an RB9 rank in his season-long rankings. "If rookie RB Rachaad White doesn't cut into the receiving role that Fournette played to close out the 2021 season, a finish as Fantasy's RB1 for the veteran Fournette should not come as a surprise," Gibbs said. And a massive shocker: New York Giants wide receiver Kadarius Toney ranks as the WR33 in Gibbs' best ball rankings. "Toney is a perfect mid-to-late-round dart throw," Gibbs says. "The top range of Toney's outcomes involves him completely dominating the target share for an improved Giants offense -- if the per-route data from his rookie season translate, Toney could be a PPR machine in Year 2."
Gibbs is also calling for a rookie wide receiver to be worthy of a top 25 slot in his Fantasy football best ball rankings! This pick could be the difference between winning BIG and going home with nothing.
