The first race of the Camping World SRX Series also may have delivered its most unexpected result of the season, after Helio Castroneves won the main event at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida, despite not being in the field until hours before the race. The series continues on Saturday at South Boston Speedway in South Boston, Virginia, where the green flag on the main event will wave at 8 p.m. ET. Twelve legendary drivers from various auto racing mediums are expected as part of the 2022 SRX at South Boston starting lineup. The event will air live on CBS and you can stream it on Paramount+ with their must-have Premium plan.
You can catch all the SRX Series action on Paramount+, which now has two plans. The Essential Plan costs $4.99 per month to access Paramount's catalog of movies and TV shows with limited advertisements, plus your live local NFL games, international soccer and more. The Premium Plan is $9.99 per month and you can watch your local CBS live stream with no ads, on demand and the ability to download episodes for offline viewing. Both plans come with a free week to start, so sign up now here.
Before making any SRX picks, be sure to see the picks from our proven model. Developed by daily Fantasy pro and SportsLine predictive data engineer Mike McClure, this proprietary racing prediction model simulates every race 10,000 times, taking into account a slew of factors including track history and recent results.
In 2021, the model nailed five of Kyle Larson's wins during a historic season and has also gone 15-10 on its head-to-head matchup predictions to start the 2022 season. Earlier this season it was high on Ross Chastain to win in Austin, giving him a far better shot to win than his 40-1 odds implied. The model was also high on Joey Logano before he won as a 15-1 underdog at Darlington. Anyone who followed its lead on those plays saw HUGE returns.
The model also called Tony Stewart's wins at Knoxville and then again the following week at Eldora last year. Now, it has dialed in on this week's SRX Series at South Boston race and released its projections.
We can tell you the model is high on Ryan Newman, who finished third last weekend at Pensacola. Plus, a massive shocker: Tony Stewart, who finished as last season's champion struggles for the second consecutive week and finishes outside the Top 5! There are far better values in this loaded Superstar Racing Experience field.
The model has also identified a big long shot who is set to make a surprising run for the checkered flag. You ABSOLUTELY need to see who it is before locking in any SRX picks.
