Bettor at William Hill to make nearly half-million dollars if Colts win Super Bowl 55

One bettor in particular at William Hill sportsbook is going to have a huge rooting interest in the Indianapolis Colts winning Super Bowl 55.

For the most part, the Indianapolis Colts have been given good grades by the various NFL experts for their offseason thus far, which was led by signing long-time Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers in free agency. Back before the conference championship games in January, William Hill sportsbook opened the Colts at +4500 to win Super Bowl 55 in Tampa, Fla., next February. Now, they are down to +2500 and one reason is a big wager.

Back when Indy was +4500, a bettor at William Hill dropped $10,000 on the team to win Super Bowl 55, meaning said player would collect $460,000 if the Colts win their first title since following the 2006 season when Peyton Manning was still the team's quarterback.

Rivers should upgrade that position over inconsistent Jacoby Brissett, and the Colts also fortified their defensive line by sending the No. 13 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft to the San Francisco 49ers for Pro Bowl defensive tackle DeForest Buckner – who then was signed to a long-term extension. The team also added former Vikings Pro Bowl cornerback Xavier Rhodes in free agency.

CBS Sports' Pete Prisco gave the Colts a B- grade in the draft. Indy got two guys who should contribute right away on offense in USC wideout Michael Pittman Jr. at No. 34 overall and Wisconsin running back Jonathan Taylor at No. 41. The Colts now appear stacked in the backfield with Taylor, Marlon Mack, Jordan Wilkins and Nyheim Hines.

We will learn Indy's 2020 regular-season schedule next week, but the team is middle of the pack in terms of strength of schedule (T16) as its opponents combined for a .502 winning percentage (128-127-1) last year. William Hill gives the Colts a price of +1200 to win the AFC title.
