One day after hitting the Pick 4 at Pimlico, Beyer Speed Figure maker Bob Weir attacks Sunday's late Pick 4 at Belmont Park
World class horse racing takes place at Belmont Park outside New York City, and on Sunday the late Pick 4 begins with Race 6 at 3:34 p.m. ET and ends with Race 9. Before you make any picks, you NEED to know how racing insider and accomplished horseplayer Bob Weir has handicapped the sequence.
A member of the Beyer Speed Figure-making team who is based in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., Weir is a two-time qualifier for the prestigious National Horseplayers Championship in Las Vegas. Last year he was red-hot in the Triple Crown prep races, hitting the superfecta in the Blue Grass Stakes for $1,678 and exactas in the Fountain of Youth Stakes and Tampa Bay Derby. He also hit the 19-1 winner of the Man o' War Stakes, the trifecta in the Pegasus World Cup, the superfecta in the Met Mile and multiple Pick 4s, including May 14's at Belmont for $1,851.
Last month he hit the late Pick 4 at Gulfstream Park for $641 and the exacta in the Florida Derby. Five weeks ago he nailed the Pick 5 at Keeneland and the exacta in the Lexington Stakes, and yesterday he hit the Pick 4 at Pimlico on Preakness Stakes Day.
For Sunday, Weir has handicapped the Pick 4 at Belmont, made his picks and constructed his tickets.
We can tell you that Weir is high on Fancy Joke, a 9-2 shot in Race 7, the second leg of the Pick 4. "I liked her return race as a 3-year-old when she ran fast early and tired late trying seven furlongs off the bench," Weir told SportsLine. "On Sunday she turns back to six furlongs and should be set for a big run." Fancy Joke is Weir's top pick in Race 7 and a lone A horse on his Pick 4 tickets.
In addition, Weir is high on a double-digit longshot on Sunday. Weir says the horse is "not the same horse anymore" but could spice up the Pick 4. Weir is including this longshot on his tickets, and so should you. You NEED to see Weir's analysis before making any Pick 4 selections.
