Now, Kannon has been digging into the 2026 PGA Zurich Classic of New Orleans field to find the best betting value and just locked in his Zurich Classic of New Orleans best bets to back. We can tell you he's fading Michael Thorbjornsen and Karl Vilips, even though he is 18-1 at TPC Louisiana in Avondale, La.
"There is no shortage of camaraderie in this pairing as the two young men were roommates at Stanford University when competing there on the Cardinal golf team a handful of years ago," Kannon said. "Both are up-and-coming players on Tour and would seem to make sense as one of the shorter priced favorites in the field this week. I'm not necessarily banking on it not working out but I don't like the amount of expectation that has been suddenly thrust onto this duo in a weaker than usual field.
"Vilips is an excellent putter but has really struggled tee to green and has missed four cuts in his last seven starts. Thorbjornsen has been better but really has slipped versus what we have seen in the last couple of seasons. His putting has been atrocious, and the ball striking has fallen off. It is an expensive price to pay for a team that I believe is more like 30-1 to lift the trophy this week in New Orleans – and on top of this, they also seem to be a very popular selection this week. I will be staying away from the Palo Alto pals."
Kannon has revealed his best bet, and it's a longshot higher than 25-1 who might be the best course fit in the entire field!
