2026 Fantasy Football tight end rankings: Grab one in our top two tiers before talent dries up

When I prepare for Fantasy drafts, I typically expect that I'll be able to take either a tight end or quarterback early, but not both. This year in particular, I am much happier drafting a tight end earlier than a quarterback. The latter position has a larger selection of similar talent after you get past the top tier, whereas tight end has just a group of eight I'd be comfortable having as my starter.

That group of eight is broken down into two tiers, with the two big names in Tier 1 and then a six-pack that'll provide my tight end in most leagues. That's because if you want to draft Trey McBride or Brock Bowers, you probably need to have an early pick so you can get one at the Round 2/3 turn. Once we get past about 20 players at running back and receiver, those two tight ends stand out among the available options, and I'd be surprised if either lasts until the back half of Round 3. 

That doesn't mean those with late picks are doomed to start unpleasant options at the position. All six of my Tier 2 tight ends are capable of ascending to Tier 1 status by this time next year, as I believe all have the potential to finish first at the position in 2026. And that group doesn't even include two names that dominated the top of the tight end rankings for a decade. Let's get into my tiered tight end Fantasy rankings for 2026.
