2025 LIV Golf Hong Kong odds, picks: Golf insider reveals best bets, sleepers, favorites to avoid
After a three week break, the LIV Golf circuit is back in action for two consecutive weeks of play beginning in Hong Kong. After a longshot won the season opener in Saudi Arabia (Adrian Meronk, +10000), Joaquin Niemann captured the title in Adelaide at +900 odds. Hong Kong Golf Club hosts this week's event for the second straight season and plays at only 6,700 yards, with water in play on half of the holes. Abraham Ancer beat Paul Casey and Cameron Smith in a playoff last season and looks to defend his title this week. Play begins Thursday evening at 11:15 p.m. ET.Â
Jon Rahm, who has never finished outside the top 10 in a LIV Golf event that he has completed, is the favorite at +550 odds, followed by Joaquin Niemann (+750), Tyrrell Hatton (+800), Bryson DeChambeau (+900), Cameron Smith at +1600. Rahm is +1000 (risk $100 to win $1,000) to be the leader after Round 1. Â
Before making any LIV Golf Hong Kong golf picks, be sure to see what golf handicapper Eric Cohen has to say.
Cohen is an avid golf bettor who correctly predicted the pre-tournament outright winners of the first two LIV Golf events in 2024: Joaquin Niemann at Mayakoba and Dustin Johnson in Las Vegas, as well as Sergio Garcia at Andalucia last July. He also accurately predicted Bryson DeChambeau's victory at the 2024 U.S. Open at +2000 odds. Eric is a contributor to SportsLine's YouTube shows including "Early Edge" and is the host of "The Early Wedge" golf show (Tuesday nights at 7 p.m. ET). Anyone who has followed Cohen's predictions is likely to have made positive gains on their golf picks.
Now, Cohen has studied the 2025 LIV Golf Hong Kong field and locked in three best bets. Unfortunately, one of them isn't Sergio Garcia, who Cohen is fading at +2000 odds. "I'm not sure I understand why the oddsmakers have Garcia tied with the fifth-best odds to win this week. Sure, his driver and putter have looked good this season but his approach play hasn't, and that's usually not the right formula to determine a victor. The veteran Spaniard finished T38 here in 2024, losing more than 2.3 shots on approach. I'd be surprised if he even finished close to the top 10 based on these metrics so I'm fully out on his chances in Hong Kong."
Cohen also has broken down the 2025 LIV Golf Hong Kong event and reveals why he's backing two underdogs to finish in the top 10! You ABSOLUTELY need to see who they are before locking in any picks of your own.
