One week separates players from the second major championship of the season, but eyes will be fixed on another major venue at Quail Hollow Club. The 2024 Wells Fargo Championship welcomes 70 players to Charlotte, North Carolina for yet another signature event on the PGA Tour.

Without a cut at the 36-hole mark, this event will allow players to play themselves into the PGA Championship at Valhalla next week. Chief among the favorites this week — and next — is three-time tournament winner Rory McIlroy. Fresh off capturing his 25th career PGA Tour victory alongside Shane Lowry at the Zurich Classic, the 35-year-old hopes to keep a good thing rolling this week at Quail Hollow.

McIlroy's iron play is an area of his game to monitor as his driver remains in a good spot and his short game is turning a corner. Other players who will factor this week — and more than likely next week — are a number of players who vied for the green jacket. Ludvig Åberg has been fantastic this year and hopes to add his name to the lengthy list of quality winners at Quail Hollow that includes McIlroy, Max Homa, Rickie Fowler and Justin Thomas.

Wyndham Clark broke through for his first victory at this tournament a season ago and has since become a fixture on the big stage. A winner at Pebble Beach, Clark has factored at big-time events in 2024 including the Arnold Palmer Invitational, Players Championship and the RBC Heritage. Clark clipped Xander Schauffele a season ago as Schauffele continues to search for his first win in nearly two years as do Patrick Cantlay, Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth.
